2020 Ford Fusion Redesign Exterior & Interior
Speaking of New Ford Fusion redesign, you can expect a more refreshed look and features from the new Fusion. While the current Ford Fusion uses a CD4 platform, the upcoming Ford Fusion may not continue this.
In fact, it is possible that the new Ford Fusion may use an entirely new platform. This platform may be made of lightweight materials like aluminum, which can be found in many next-generation vehicles that have been released. We think it is very likely that the new Ford Fusion uses this kind of platform.
As we can see from the 2020 Ford Fusion spy photos, the new Ford Fusion is going to be longer and larger than the current version. This means that it will be more spacious inside, which is great.
As for the wheels, it appears it will use 18-inch wheels made of aluminum, though the wheels’ size may change depending on the trim. Its grille will be smaller, sleeker, and more distinctive. As for the headlights and taillights, both will be reshaped.
Interior Redesign & New Features
Since the sedan will have a larger dimension, the inside will be more spacious and comfortable. The materials used for the interior will vary, depend on the trim. That said, you can expect high-quality materials even for the base trim.
The new generation sedan will have a touchscreen display with an infotainment system from SYNC3. Features such as Apple car play, Android Auto, and navigation system will be available. There will be lots of other features, including safety features like blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian detection.
Engine Specs & Transmission
The current Ford Fusion has various engine options. We expect the same for the New Fusion. The base model for the upcoming Ford Fusion is likely to use the recently released 1.5-liter, turbo-three gas engine. This engine is capable of generating up to 190 horsepower, which is quite good for its class.
There is also a 2.7-liter, V6 engine for the Sports model. The output of this engine can reach as high as 325 horsepower with 380 lb-ft of torque. So far, we don’t see the possibility of the 2020 Ford Fusion hybrid.
The engines available will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission gearbox as a standard. This will keep the price down and at the same time, give the customers options. Also, the all-wheel-drive system will be available for some models.
2020 Ford Fusion Release Date and Price
For the moment, there is no confirmation about the release date. There is no confirmation of the 2020 Ford Fusion price either but we expect the new Fusion’s starting price to be around $23,000.
With a refreshed look, various engine options, and lots of features, the upcoming Ford Fusion is going to be a good family sedan. Although it will be difficult for the 2020 model to beat its predecessor, we expect it to be at least as good as its predecessor, which is one of the most popular family sedans in the U.S. Let’s just see how it turns out.
