2020 RAM 3500 Redesign; The Heavy Duty Get Update
Everyone knows that the RAM 3500 lineup has been relatively the same for almost a decade. This will not be the case for the 2020 RAM 3500, though. The all-new RAM is going to get lots of improvements. The biggest changes are likely to happen under the hood. Indeed, there will be a new engine option available. Want to know more about the changes? Alright, here they are.
2020 RAM 3500 Changes Exterior & Interior
We will see 2020 RAM 3500 redesign for both the exterior and interior. Let’s start with the outer part first. What kind of redesign will it get? Well, to start, the front grille is redesigned. It will have nostril-like openings. These openings are complemented with RAM lettering in its center. The upcoming RAM is going to get a new, slotted front bumper as well. The powertrain now is better protected, thanks to new skidplates.
Moreover, new HD cameras will be installed. Another camera is installed on its tailgate handle, with a second Center High Mounted Stop Lamp camera designed to give the driver the view of the bed. The Tungsten Edition will be offered, which features unique wheels, running boards with body-color additional chrome details as well as RAM logo on its tailgate.
Now, let’s talk about the interior. As we see from the 2020 RAM 3500 concept, the interior is going to look a bit outdated. Don’t be discouraged yet, though. While it does look a bit outdated, the RAM 3500 will come with lots of very competitive tech features in its class. The base model will get a small driver infotainment display, AM/FM radio, vinyl flooring and other standard features. The upholstery and luxury will depend on the trim level. The higher the trim level is, the better the upholstery and luxury.
Engine Specs & Fuel Economy
As we have mentioned earlier, this is going to be the biggest changes in the 2020 RAM 3500 Heavy Duty. The upcoming RAM 3500 will get a new 6.7-liter 6-cylinder turbodiesel Cummins engine. This engine can generate up to 390 horsepower and a whopping 905 pound-feet of torque.
That’s not the only engine options available. A 5.7-liter V-8 engine and a 6.4-liter V-8 engine will be available as well. The 5.7-liter engine can generate up to 385 horsepower while the 6.4-liter engine can generate up to 415 horsepower. The torque of both engines is the same: 430 pound-feet.
All of the engines will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission while 2020 RAM 3500 diesel engines will be offered in both automatic and manual transmission.
Release Date and Price
As of now, the exact 2020 RAM 3500 release date is not yet announced. Since it is made for 2020, chances are it will enter the market somewhere this year. As for the price we predict it to be in the same range as the current RAM 3500. That is, around $33,500 for the base model and may reach up to $78,000 for the higher models.
The Ram 350 lineup is going to be updated soon with the upcoming RAM 3500 Truck. We are going to see the next-generation RAM 3500 and its various improvements. Speaking of which, the biggest changes for the new RAM 3500 will be its engine as a new engine option is going to be available.
