2020 Porsche Panamera: What We Know So Far
There are rumors about Panamera. The rumors suggest that Porsche is going to make the new 2020 Porsche Panamera as 928’s spiritual successor. Interestingly enough, the company neither confirm nor deny these rumors. Because of this, many people, including us, think that the possibility of a new car is there. Below, we have the information and rumors that we know so far about the upcoming Panamera.
It appears that Porsche is going to use the same platform for the coupe as the Panamera. That being the case, the platform is going to be shorter. The same can be said for the wheelbase, too. Shorter platform and wheelbase will give the New Porsche Panamera coupe excellent performance to compete with other cars in the class. Also, the new platform will enable Porsche to shape the coupe the way they wanted, be it shortening or widening.
2020 Porsche Panamera Redesign
In terms of design, we expect the upcoming coupe to be similar to the latest Panamera. We expect the upcoming coupe to use a similar, if not nearly identical, dashboard design used by the Upcoming Panamera. We also expect the driving position and equipment to be similar as well. However, the seats are likely to be different.
The Panamera coupe is going to be shorter. Since a shorter Panamera will without a doubt look unusual, the coupe is likely to be a bit different. The upfront part will look similar, while other parts, such as its rear end, roofline and profile will be different. We expect its rear end to be a bit bulkier, the roofline lower and the profile to look similar to the 911 model. This means that the new coupe will have a lot of similarities to the 928 which is one of Porsche’s superior designs from the past
Engine Specs & Transmission
Unlike its sedan counterpart, the 2020 Panamera coupe is going to get more powerful engines as its standard. The base trim will get a 2.9-liter V6 engine with an output of 440 horsepower. Another engine, the 4-liter, a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with an output of 550 horsepower will also be available. However, both the 3-liter V6 engine and the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 diesel engine are unlikely to be available.
As for the higher trims, such as the 2020 Porsche Panamera GTS, they will get a more powerful engine. Some said that these higher trims will get a V10 engine. Not only that, some rumors suggest that the V10 engine, in order to make it more powerful, will be made in the hybrid system. In other words, we may see the 2020 Porsche Panamera hybrid in the near future.
2020 Porsche Panamera Release Date & Pricing
Speaking of price, the starting price for the base trim of the upcoming coupe will likely to be above $100,000. The price of the new coupe’s spiritual predecessor, the 928, is also in that range so you can expect the price to be more or less at that range. For the top trims, we expect it to be in $200,000, excluding additional options.
The possibility of 2020 Porsche Panamera excites many people, we included. The upcoming coupe is going to get lots of improvements inside and outside. Although the market is already saturated with S-class coupes from Aston Martin and Mercedes, we believe the new coupe Panamera is going to get its own place on the market.
