2020 Lexus GS Release Date; Features, Price, Redesign & More
Exterior
Speaking of the exterior, you can expect for 2020 Lexus GS redesign. Based on the captured spy shots, it is very likely that the new Lexus GS will have some significant changes. For instance, Lexus’ classic spindle grille is going to be replaced with a brand-new different nose layout. Other changes include integrated side markers, extremely sleek and smooth hood, sharply defined corners and a dual grille layout.
The 2020 Lexus GS’s design changes are expected. The reason it is going to have a smooth and stylish yet masculine look is that it will compete against Mercedes E-Class.
Interior
There will be changes in the upcoming Lexus GS as well. Since the GS lineup is all about luxury, we expect the upcoming GS will have a lot of leather and wood inside. This is a trend that started with the 2016 GS and has been continued since. The Upcoming Lexus GS is likely to continue this trend.
As for the infotainment system, we don’t expect it to be changed in terms of size. They are already big enough, after all. We do expect software updates, though. Since the car will be released in 2020, the upcoming Lexus GS should come with the latest technology.
Performance
There is no official announcement yet about the performance and available engine options for the upcoming Lexus GS. While this is so, we can predict both from the current model’s performance and engine options.
The basic trim for the current model is available in 3 engines: 2.0 liters turbocharged 4-banger engine, which is able to generate up to 241 horsepower with 258 lb-ft of torque and 3.5 liters V6 engine with 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The last engine option is a hybrid engine. It uses the same 3.5 liters V6 engine but is paired with an electric motor and battery, which increase the output to 338 horsepower.
It is likely that the upcoming will be available in those engine options. That said, we expect some improvement for the engines, especially for the 2020 Lexus GS F Sport trim. The current GS F trim used a 5 liters engine with an output of 467 horsepower with 389 lb-ft of torque. We expect the 2020 GS F Sport trim to be more powerful than this.
2020 Lexus GS Release Date and Price
What about New Lexus GS release date and price? Again, no official announcement yet. Rumor has it that the new Lexus GS will enter the market in the second half of 2018. As for the price, we expect it to be around $46,000 for the basic trim.
It appears that the 2020 Lexus GS will come with lots of improvements. While this is not yet confirmed, major improvements are very likely to happen based on the spy shots taken, especially the exterior. In fact, the exterior is almost certainly revamped and refreshed. We expect the same for the interior, engines, and features.
