2020 Ford Ranger: Redesign, Specs, Configuration, Price & Availability | Ford had taken a hiatus for about seven years in the mid-size pickup market. In 2019, it seems Ford has it enough. The manufacturer could not ignore the growing mid-size pickup market, which many other manufacturers have gained their own market share.
That was when the Ford Ranger returns to the market. And it certainly was a triumphant return, to say the least. Soon, we will see a new Ranger for 2020: the 2020 Ford Ranger. Want to know more about the upcoming Ranger? Just read on our preview below.
2020 Ford Ranger Redesign & Changes
First, about the design. What kind of design will the 2020 Ranger get? Most likely, it will retain most of the design of the 2019 Ranger. Why? Because the lineup has just made its return to the mid-size pickup market. Not to mention it came with a brand-new look as well. So, the 2020 Ranger will continue most of what the 2019 Ranger has.
While most parts will remain the same, that doesn’t necessarily mean the 2020 Ranger to be exactly the same as the 2019 Ranger. There may be some updates and tweaks, maybe even new aesthetic packages that will be available for purchase.
The interior will be comfortable and will have decent quality materials. Features such as an audio system with six speakers, WiFi and Bluetooth will be standard. Other features, such as an 8-inch touchscreen display, power windows, and smartphone connectivity (both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), will be available as optional features.
Same goes for what is under the hood. The 2020 Ford Ranger will be powered by the same engine that powers the 2019 Ford Ranger: a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This engine has an output of 270 horsepower with 310 lb-ft of torque. With such an output, the Ranger will be able to tackle day to day task of a mid-size pickup truck with ease. The engine will be mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
2020 Ford Ranger Release Date and Price
No definite release date has been announced by Ford. The only thing that we know about the upcoming Ranger is that the production of its fleet version is planned to start in mid-November. Although there is no definite release date announced yet, we can expect it to enter the market either in very late 2019 or early 2020. It is, after all, meant to be a 2020 model.
As for the price, it shouldn’t be too different from the 2019 Ranger. Since it is most likely to be a carryover model, not much will be changed. With no major changes, the price will stay mostly the same. We estimate the 2020 Ranger to have a price range between $26,000 and $40,000.
That is our preview of the upcoming 2020 Ford Ranger. With the Ranger has just made its triumphant return in yesteryear, we don’t expect the 2020 Ranger to get remodeled. We expect it to be a carryover model instead. It will be mostly the same as the 2019 Ranger, perhaps with some small changes here and there. What do you think?
