2020 Ford Expedition: Specs, Redesign, Interior, MSRP & Release Date
2020 Ford Expedition: Preview of the Upcoming Expedition | The Ford Expedition lineup has just got a redesign back in 2018. The current version, the 2019 Ford Expedition, carries over most of what the 2018 Ford Expedition has. Soon, we will see another new iteration of the lineup. This upcoming iteration is going to be a 2020 model. Do you want to know more about this 2020 Ford Expedition? If you do, just read on.
2020 Ford Expedition Redesign
We mentioned earlier that the lineup just got a redesign. Because of this, the upcoming Expedition will be a carryover model. As we all know, a lineup got a redesign every a few years or so. With the redesign still fresh, it is very unlikely that we will see another redesign for the 2020 model.
Both the exterior and the interior will look largely the same as the 2019 Expedition. On the exterior, the 2020 Expedition will keep the boxy and slick look. Being a 2020 model, it may even get small changes like sharp and defined lines to make it look more modern. It will be a good-looking family SUV, just like the previous Expedition models.
The inside of the 2020 Expedition will be filled with good quality materials. We expect it to be as roomy and comfortable as the current Expedition. It should have enough room for everyone. The higher trim levels should have a more luxurious feel and look in it. Features like an 8-inch touchscreen display, SYNC 3 infotainment system, and an audio system with six speakers may be included as standard for the 2020 model.
Although a redesign is very unlikely, we can expect there to be some updates, upgrades or tweaks here and there. After all, there is always a room for improvement including even for a popular lineup such as the Expedition.
Just like the exterior and the interior, we expect the 2020 Ford Expedition to carry over what is under the hood as well. It will be powered by a 3.5-liter, turbo V6 engine. More likely than not, this engine will be used as standard across the trim levels. The outputs will be different, however. The higher the trim level, the more output the engine can deliver.
For the base trim, the engine should be able to produce up to 375 hp with 470 lb-ft of torque. The higher trim, the Limited model, should have an output of 400 hp with 480 lb-ft of torque. For a full-size SUV, this kind of output is good. It is more than enough to handle a family SUV’s daily tasks.
2020 Ford Expedition Release Date and Price
At the moment, Ford hasn’t disclosed the release date of the 2020 Expedition yet. What we know is that the production of the 2020 model is expected to start in October 2019. That means the release date shouldn’t be too far from October, probably somewhere in late 2019.
As for the pricing, we can expect the price of the 2020 Ford Expedition to be in the same range as the 2019 Ford Expedition. The starting price should be around $54,000 for the base model and around $80,000 for the highest level with all the features.
