Will the 2020 Durango get a redesign? Very unlikely. Although it is true that it has been years since the Durango lineup got redesigned, we won’t see it in the 2020 model. So far, the Durango only gets several refreshes. The most recent refresh is done on the current model, the 2019 Durango. So, instead of getting a redesign, the 2020 Durango will be a carryover model.
For the exterior, the upcoming Durango will be mostly the same as the current Durango. It will look just as sporty and imposing as the 2019 Durango. There will be no major changes but there should be small changes that will make the 2020 Durango look more modern and stylish.
Same goes for the interior. Most of the interior will not be changed. It will spacious, comfortable and easy to access. The interior will be made with good quality materials and there will be lots of features and technologies like touchscreen displays, a responsive infotainment system, AppleCarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity, accident avoidance features and so on.
The current Dodge Durango has three engines available depending on the trim. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 engine capable of producing 295 hp with 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine is decent and able to perform daily tasks of an SUV.
The second and third engines are available on higher trim levels. The second engine is a 5.7-liter V8 engine with an output of 360 hp with 390 lb-ft of torque. The third engine is the most powerful one among the three. It is a 6.7-liter V8 engine with an output of 475 hp with 470 lb-ft. For an SUV, it is a very powerful engine.
With the 2020 Dodge Durango meant to be a carryover model, we expect it to carry over what is under the hood as well. The engines above should be available for the 2020 Durango.
There may be some updates or tweaks for the engines, especially for the base engine as it can be made more powerful. The SUV market is very competitive. It wouldn’t be surprising if the upcoming 2020 Durango has more powerful engines available.
