It Will Be a Very, Very Fast Car
The upcoming 2020 Dodge Challenger Demon is going to get a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine from Hemi. Yes, the same engine used in the current Hellcat. However, this time the engine will generate a whopping 840 of horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque. With such high output, the engine is considered as the most powerful V-8 engine ever made for street use.
It is estimated that with such a powerful engine, the 0-60 number for the Demon is 2.3 seconds. It can reach the first quarter-mile under 10 seconds at 140 mph. Is it fast? Very. In fact, it is too fast according to the National Hot Rod Association’s standard. Because of this, individuals who want to participate in NHRA’s events are obliged to get a competition license and safety equipment (for example, a roll cage, a helmet, and a firesuit).
The Demon’s engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox. It will also use a rear-wheel-drive system. All the component of the Demon’s driveline has been strengthened so they will be able to withstand its power.

It Is Made for the Track
The Demon is not all about raw power. Nor is it about looks. For instance, it will have an air conditioning system that cools down the intake air. This air conditioning system can be programmed to be turned on even if the vehicle is turned off. This feature is very useful to cool down the engine. There are a trans brake, which allows for ultra-quick launches, and a drag mode.
It Will Weight Less
One key part of the2020 Dodge Challenger redesign for the Demon is its less weight. Indeed, it will weigh less than its Hellcat counterpart, too. How? Well, there are things that will be taken out. For instance, its passenger seat, its rear bench, audio system, parking sensors, and other materials, all of which is not necessary for the Demon.
Optional Equipment Will Be Offered
There will be optional equipment for the new Demon. Take the Demon Crate. This package includes equipment such as a performance air filter, hardware needed to burn race fuel, narrow drag wheels and Demon-branded tools. Other optional features, such as heated and cooled front seats, leather upholstery, audio system with 19 speakers and a sunroof can also be purchased.
2020 Dodge Challenger Release date and Price
While there are many performance cars on the market, none of them come close to the Demon’s capability on drag racing. Even high-end cars can’t match it in a straight-line acceleration. This fact is, of course, also true for the new Demon. As far as we know, the upcoming 2020 Dodge Challenger is going to be an awesome car just like its predecessors. It may perform even better than its predecessors. What do you think?
