Here is What We Know About the 2020 Chevy Camaro So Far. The New Camaro is coming Very soon. We know this because the mule has been spotted. In fact, there are lots of spy photos of the upcoming Chevy Sports Car. Want to know more about it? Just read on. We will tell you what we know so far about the 2020 Camaro.
2020 Chevy Camaro Redesign and Changes
From 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Concept we can infer that the upcoming Camaro will look similar to the ongoing model. That doesn’t necessarily mean there will be no changes, though. In fact, we can see a few differences based on the spy photos. For instance, while the front fascia is obscured by test vinyl, we can see that the headlamps look different from that of the ongoing Camaro.
That’s the front end. What about the back end? We are going to see 2020 Camaro refresh here as well. Yes, the rear end is going to be updated. There are new lines and curves for the rear bumper and license plate. The taillights appear to get new LEDs as well. As for the rear wing, it is likely to be the same as the ongoing model’s rear wing.
Engines Specs & Transmission
The upcoming Camaro is going to get more powerful engines especially the 2020 Chevy Camaro SS. Everybody knows that the 2020 Camaro is competing against Mustang GT. The problem is that the 2018 Camaro is a bit weaker than the 2018 Mustang GT. The 2018 Mustang GT has a power output of 460 horsepower while the 2018 Camaro has 455 horsepower.
The 5 horsepower difference seems insignificant, but it does matter. After all, the 2018 Mustang GT is outselling the 2018 Camaro and Chevrolet seems to be aware of this problem. For this reason, we expect the 2020 Camaro to be more powerful. We might see the upcoming Chevrolet Sports Car to have an output of 470 horsepower.
According to a listing from California Air Resources Board, it seems that the upcoming Camaro will be available in three transmissions. These transmissions are SA8, MA7, and MA6. Later on, GM removed the MA7 transmission. While this may indicate that the transmission will not be used, some say that GM is trying to cover the surprise.
Speaking of transmission, the highest trim level on the outgoing Camaro, the ZL1 used a 10-speed automatic transmission gearbox. Although there is no official information from GM about it yet, we can expect the same from the 2020 Chevy Camaro ZL1.
2020 Camaro SS Release Date and Price
There is no official statement regarding the exact 2020 Camaro release date. That being said, the upcoming should enter the market late this year. As for the price, we expect the starting price for the base model to be around $25,000.
There will some changes in the 2020 Camaro SS. While this has not been confirmed yet, we are sure that changes will happen. Especially, in terms of engines. We can already see a few changes on the exterior. There is a good chance that we will see changes under the hood, too. After all, the Camaro needs to have more powerful engines if it is to outsell the Mustang GT.
