We are going to see a 2020 BMW X1 soon. The BMW X1 lineup has been known to be a luxurious compact crossover suitable for not only city driving but also family trips. How could it not? It offers a roomy cabin, lots of headroom and legroom for all passengers inside, interior with premium materials, lots of cargo space and a powerful engine under the hood. The question is, what will the upcoming BMW X1 come with?
2020 BMW X1 Redesign & Changes
Due to the lack of released details, it is difficult to predict 2020 BMW X1 changes. As such, we have to rely on speculations and predictions. Since the current model is only two years old and it still looks quite fresh, significant changes are not likely to happen. Instead, the upcoming BMW X1 will continue to use BMW’s latest design language. Yes, it is likely to get LED headlamps double-kidney grille and muscular bumper.
While significant changes are not likely to happen, we expect the new BMW X1 to receive some updates and here and there. For instance, the bumper or headlights. We also expect some novelties such as wheel design, color options and other similar things to be available as well.
The BMW X1 interior is not likely to be changed significantly either. Again, there will be changes, updates, and improvements but these will not be significantly different from what the current model has.
Should you be disappointed? Not necessarily. The current model’s interior is already impressive. It has a very attractive, comfortable and stylish cabin which is considered as one of the best in its class. Its features are quite impressive as well. Yes, including its standard features.
The current model’s standard features such as a 6.5-inch display, leather-covered steering wheel, infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth, audio system, a power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, foglights, automatic climate control and more should be available in the new X1.
Engine Specs & MPG
The upcoming BMW X1 is going to use the same engine as the current BMW X1. For the North American market, the upcoming BMW X1 will use a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine which can produce up to 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
Release Date and Price
So far, there is no official statement is released regarding 2020 BMW X1 release date and price. That being the case, it should hit the market in the second half of this year. And speaking of price, we expect it to be more or less in the same range as the current model, which means the base model of the upcoming BMW X1 will have a starting price of $35,000.
These are what the upcoming 2020 BMW X1 will come with. It seems that we are not likely to see significant changes in the third generation crossover albeit we do expect changes, updates, and improvements to the exterior and interior. The engine will remain the same, but there shouldn’t be any complaint here since the current engine is more than capable to do its tasks. With these changes, we expect the new BMW X1 to offer an even better driving experience than its predecessor.
